4 to 5 hours after the session, a rash-like reaction will occur. A rash can last up to 12 hours while slight bleeding can last up to 24 hours. 3 days following the session blisters may appear. A crust may form in the first week and last up to 10 days.
Post-therapeutic hyper pigmentation, a progressive pigmentation of the skin visible 2 to 3 weeks after the laser-therapy, may occur. It reaches its peak in the first month, then, without further treatment, will fade in the 3 months following laser-therapy. Rare temporary or long-term hypo pigmentation may also occur, especially on darker skins.
Scarring or other permanent marks to the skin’s texture are rare. Proper cooling of the treated area is paramount. For all skin types, tanning and excessive sun exposure should be avoided for reasons listed above.
